To meet architectural objectives, we
recommend a two-level architecture.
- The top level determines the mode of operation:
Phase 1 GO, Phase 1 Archival, or Phase 2. It determines
the set of tools used for each mode.
This level deals with the creating/editing of a
proposal
and the sharing of data between the tools.
For example, in Phase 2, this level deals with creating lists of targets,
visits, exposures, etc.
- The bottom level consists of the standalone tools,
such as the Visual Target Tuner and Exposure Time Calculators.
