Linux Instructions:

Instructions

Download the zip file, open a console window, and run the command unzip APT.linux.zip. This will unpack the application directory named by the APT version, like APT 2026.3.2
mv the APT directory to where you would like APT to be installed.
You can start APT from inside the installation directory: ./APT

Windows Instructions:

Instructions

Download MSI Installer, and double-click on the APT.msi file to start the installer.
(Note that you may get one or more warning pop up messages that ask you: "Are you sure you want to launch “APT.msi”?", tell you that "Windows protected your PC", or tell you a suspicious file was detected and does a scan.)

Important notes about choosing an installation directory

By default APT will be installed in the hidden subfolder \AppData\Local of the user's home folder. But you can choose another location.
In situations where APT must be installed into a common area (such as C:\Program Files), you may need to use an actual Administrator account and not an account that has Administrator privileges or some institution specific configuration of heightened privileges. If you choose to install to this location, please be sure to specify a folder within Program Files e.g. C:\Program Files\APT_2026.3.2.
