Most of the infrastructure modifications have been performed to Starview to support the integration. Niall will have them in place soon but will disable them in any production code.
Fred may be time constrained with other projects. His available time for this project needs to be determined.
Niall brought up the issue of the shared objects between the two tools. The actual objects will be imported appropriately in the two tools. This is being done as opposed to creating some stubbed interfaces. Along with this point, the shared object classes will be delivered with both sets of software. While this is redundant, it is the best approach to ensure a “clean” delivery.
Niall brought up the issue of how these tools will be brought up in the same JVM. There still needs to be some investigation regarding this matter. However, the following is the general feeling of how the installation will take place:
Fred implemented a basic function that pushes aperture information back to Starview. A certain key (insert) is pressed that pushes the data back and forth. This will suffice for testing purposes but will need to be revisited for the final implementation.
The “Observed Aperture” concept has still not been resolved. Frank will schedule a meeting to discuss how this should be implemented.
Staffing is still a concern where Fred’s time available to this project is often constrained.
The “Observed Aperture” concept is still outstanding.
Frank will schedule a meeting to discuss the “Observed Aperture” concept and how it should be implemented.
